The Biotechnology Laboratory for Medicinal Plants started its activity in 2020 at the Research Core Facility. Along with other scientific and technical facilities available in the Laboratory, it has provided the necessary infrastructure for applied research related to medicinal plants and is ready to provide services (consultation, laboratory services) in the field of medicinal plants to interested students, researchers, and private companies by creating necessary infrastructure. Some of the services provided by this laboratory include quantitative and qualitative identification of plant essences and extracts, performing biological analyses (anthocyanins, antioxidants, antibacterial, antifungal, measurement of phenolic and flavonoid compounds), establishing and launching a tissue culture and plant cell research laboratory, and creating the necessary infrastructure for tissue culture and micropropagation of medicinal plants for the study of secondary metabolites and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
